Iran’s successful IRGC rocket launch yesterday offers an interesting theory: Is India sabotaging Pakistan’s space program?
For some quick context, yesterday Iran had their first ever successful launch of a military satellite into orbit with the Qassed SLV rocket, which caused a lot of concern for the US as it means Iran effectively has the tech for an ICBM capable of hitting the US.
I saw several people talking yesterday on defence.pk about how Iran’s civilian space program was a den of spies infested with Americans and Israelis sabotaging it causing several failures. However, Iran also has a separate military space program run by IRGC of which the first demonstration occurred yesterday.
The civilian and military space program are completely separate. The IRGC military rocket launched flawlessly and successfully launched a military satellite, Noor to an orbit of 425km while the civilian program keeps getting sabotaged by spies. One thing that a lot of people noticed was that the IRGC rocket was launched from a mobile truck instead of a launchpad meaning that Qassed was basically a missile disguised as a rocket.
I found it interesting that many people were speculating if Pakistan has the same problem with Indian spies sabotaging Pakistan’s civilian space program. A Pakistani military space program made from scratch could have much better results than civilian SUPARCO if this IRGC launch is anything to learn from. SUPARCO should be razed to the ground and completely replaced with a new Pakistani military space program to make real progress as IRGC is doing.
